Fulham fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter from captain Tom Cairney following their victory over Nottingham Forest.
Marco Silva’s men faced a tough task when they travelled to the City Ground on Sunday, going up against one of the in-form teams in the division with Steve Cooper’s men having been unbeaten in their last six, with five of those games being wins.
Still, they were able to come away with a 4-0 victory, with captain Cairney completing 90 minutes for the first time since November of 2020, having been devastated with a knee injury since December.
He celebrated his side’s victory, which saw them slide back into the top two in the division, by posting on Twitter alongside the caption “First 90 in just under a year. 4 zip away from home” with a couple of emoji’s thrown in, and it was a message that generated a number of emotional responses from the Fulham fans online:
“Captain. different levels”
Will Fulham get automatic promotion this season?
Yes

No

Now that he’s got one under his belt and is getting back to fitness, hopefully he can kick on and get back to the Cairney that has been so effective for Fulham in the Championship in the past.
