Joseph Masi has been speaking on the Baggies Broadcast podcast about how long Alex Mowatt could be out injured.

West Brom were handed their first defeat in the league against Stoke City recently, but having gone on such a long unbeaten run, they are still sitting pretty in the automatic promotion spots.

That said, a lot of their victories have not been too easy on the eye, winning by just one goal in four of their six victories this campaign.

Will West Brom be promoted to the Premier League this season?

Following the international break, things may get a bit bumpier if regular midfielder and summer signing Mowatt is out for a prolonged period of time after picking up a foot injury during their defeat away to Stoke.

Masi has discussed how long Mowatt could be out if his injury is a serious one.

“As it stands for me, the top three names on the teamsheet are [Callum] Robinson, Mowatt and [Sam] Johnstone because I just think all three of them are so important. Look, if it’s a broken foot, if it’s a metatarsal it’ll be six weeks; hopefully, it’s a lot less than that.

“Obviously, we’ve got a two-week break now, so that aids it in some way, he’s a smashing player, Alex Mowatt, I really think he’s a smashing player and he can really hit a ball, can’t he?”

TIF Thoughts on West Brom and Mowatt…

Having followed Valerien Ismael from Barnsley to West Brom this summer on a free transfer, the midfielder has been a mainstay in the side so far this campaign, becoming an influential figure with the most tackles and interceptions in the squad, as well as having scored three times already.

Baggies fans will be hoping that Mowatt’s injury isn’t as serious as Masi has claimed it could be, as him being out for six weeks would leave a gaping hole in their midfield that Jayson Molumby could set to be handed the task of filling given that he replaced Mowatt against Stoke.
