The ship has sailed when it comes to West Brom’s chances of signing Trevoh Chalobah, claims former Baggies midfielder Carlton Palmer.

As per Birmingham Live, the Chelsea man held positive talks with West Brom in the summer over a loan move to The Hawthorns.

However, that did not materialise, with Chalobah going on to remain at Chelsea, where he has impressed this season.

Can you see Chalobah joining in the future?

Yes

No chance!

No chance!

The 22-year-old already has two Premier League goals to his name, the latest coming in the Blues’ last outing against Southampton, and played a big part in his side’s triumph versus Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup.

Ultimately, given his form, Palmer cannot see Chalobah becoming available in January or wanting to play in the Championship.

“He’ll want to stay in the Premier League,” the ex-West Brom player said to TIF. “I mean, he’s playing and he’s playing well for Chelsea. I don’t see the player becoming available in the next transfer window. I really don’t see that happening.

“He’s in the side and he’s playing regularly and he’s playing well. So I think that ship’s sailed.”

Chelsea continue to be linked with a move for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, but Chalobah looks to be a firm part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans. So even if the European champions do end up landing Kounde, the German manager will probably be reluctant to let the English youngster go.
