A whole host of Derby County fans are delighted on Twitter with Rob Dorsett’s Mike Ashley takeover claim.

Prior to the international break, Mel Morris officially put Derby into administration, which saw the club get slapped with a 12-point deduction and move them all the way down to the foot of the table, but they are now only seven points from safety.

There have been several people credited with an interest in the Rams, including former Ipswich Town owner Marcus Evans and ex-Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley, who now has £300 million burning a hole in his pocket, but Sky Sports journalist Dorsett has confirmed that there have been no discussions between Derby and the Sports Direct tycoon.

A lot of Derby fans on Twitter are happy with this latest news.

What have these Derby fans been saying?

“Can we all calm down a bit now and stop overreacting to theoretical scenarios?”

@BelvoirRam

“Shock”

@BenjaminJJ03

“Was always click bait anyway”

@Gorns89

“You’re saying all of the stuff written about this over the weekend was complete nonsense? What a surprise!”

@WWoodbine74

“As said before pure rumours it was and Derby fans they literally believe everything they read in papers and then get hyped straight away.”

@MACCA1313

Exactly why some of the excitement from #dcfcfans about Ashley is premature”

In the same tweet, Dorsett claimed that Ashley does indeed want to get back into sport and reinvest some of the money he got from selling Newcastle, however, buying another football club is not necessarily top of his list.
