The report suggests that bid was quickly rejected with the north London club returning to the Midlands club with a £30m bid to purchase the Spaniard which was too rejected.

Spurs fans flocked to the tweet from Tottenham Tiers relaying the claim from The Telegraph to vent their frustrations at the club’s reported efforts to sign the 25-year-old.

What exactly did these Spurs fans have to say?

“Get paratici out of my club”

“no wonder people@don’t talk with levy”
“Absolutely pathetic”
“This is the most Daniel levy thing I’ve ever seen”
“This can’t be real?! Levy”
“Pathetic as usual….”

Spurs only made one signing on transfer deadline day and that came in the form of Emerson Royal from Barcelona for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £25.73m.
