Lots of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the latest claim to emerge from journalist Phil Hay.

According to The Athletic journalist, the Whites have appealed Pascal Struijk’s red card from their defeat on the weekend to Liverpool which saw Harvey Elliott suffer a serious ankle injury.

Do you think the red card will be overturned?

Craig Pawson did not initially blow for a foul, however, after the game came to a quick halt due to the severity of the injury, the referee brandished the centre-back a red card.

With a trip to Newcastle United on Friday, Hay expects a decision to be made in time for their clash against Steve Bruce’s side.

Leeds fans flocked to the tweet from Hay to share their thoughts on the appeal to be made by Marcelo Bielsa’s side ahead of their game on Tyneside.

What exactly did these Leeds fans have to say?

“Great news but I won’t get too excited, no doubt Klopp will be one the phone”

“this will be interesting: I guess Bielsa was probably not in favour of appealing, given his comments on Sunday”
“Hallelujah MOT”
“Right decision.”
“At the very least the appeal should shine a light on Klopp’s histrionics both on and off the field. He crossed every line on Sunday, both literally and metaphorically.”
“Good”

The Whites have not had a great start to the Premier League campaign which has Bielsa’s men struggling in 17th-spot without a win in their opening four games.

Despite the severity of the injury, it is apparent these Leeds fans seem hopeful their side will win the appeal ahead of their trip to Tyneside on Friday.
