Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on the latest episode of his Here We Go podcast to discuss all things transfer related.

One player which he spoke about was Manchester United’s Paul Pogba who has had his future put under speculation over the summer.

Do you think Pogba will extend his stay at United?

Yes

Yes

No

No

However, Romano has revealed the Frenchman is ‘happy’ with the Red Devils following an impressive summer transfer window which saw Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo all join the club.

Pogba has had an exceptional start to the new campaign having provided seven assists in the opening four games of the 2021/22 Premier League campaign (via Transfermarkt).

Discussing the 28-year-old’s future at Old Trafford, Romano had the following to say on what he understands to be the latest regarding Pogba’s contract situation.

(2:10) “I think it’s clear that now the atmosphere around Manchester United is different and also Paul Pogba, I can tell you, that Paul Pogba is so happy with Manchester United life and this is something important because one year ago the situation was really difficult between Pogba, Mino Raiola and Manchester United.”

(2:45) “And Manchester United, they’ve been great in working with a masterpiece this summer on the transfer market because they’ve been perfect.

“They signed Sancho, Varane, Cristiano Ronaldo and then the feeling now is completely different. And this is why Paul Pogba is really, really happy with [the] Manchester United project with Manchester United life.

“This is one point, the other point is signing a new contract is completely different and it’s not agreed yet. From what I’m told, also checking in the last hours, it’s not yet agreed. It will take some time to see Paul Pogba putting a pen on the contract and signing the new deal with Manchester United.”

TIF Thoughts on Pogba’s future…

From a purely football point of view, we do not think there are many other sides in the world that boast a squad as strong as Manchester United, at the moment.

The addition of Cristiano Ronaldo, in our opinion, has propelled United into this season’s title race given Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side finished second last time out and have added some top-class talent over the summer. Ronaldo scored 29 goals in his 33 Serie A appearances last season and if he was able to carry that over to Old Trafford then it could certainly be a recipe for success (via Transfermarkt).

As Romano said, the additions to the squad over the summer has Pogba satisfied by the club’s vision for the future so we are interested to see if Pogba does commit his future to United with a new deal in the coming months.
