On his latest YouTube video, Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold has been discussing the injuries to Heung-min Son and Steven Bergwijn.

The two Spurs forwards suffered injuries during their time away from the north London club on international duty with the Netherlands and South Korea respectively.

Who is more influential for Spurs?

It has been reported Heung-min Son suffered a calf strain in South Korea’s 0-0 draw against Iraq which then forced him out of their following game against Lebanon.

Bergwijn was forced off the field in the Netherlands’ 6-1 victory against Turkey with a believed ankle issue and was seen nursing the problem with a bag of ice after being taken off.

Disucssing the timescale given for the return of these two players, Gold had the following to say on what he understands on their situations.

(40:00) “I asked about them (Son & Bergwijn) as well. And he said [Espirito Santo] that he’s hoping they’re fit for the next game, which I presume he means Chelsea, rather than Rennes. But again, we’ll find out when we’re out in France.”

TIF Thoughts on Tottenham’s injury issues…

Both Son and Bergwijn have played big roles under Nuno Espirito Santo in the Premier League this season with both starting the three games they were available for.

Spurs struggled massively on Saturday in front of goal and we think the absence of the duo was partly to blame for that with a combined two goals and one assist between the pair.

With Thomas Tuchel’s in-form Chelsea visiting north London on the weekend, we think Espirito Santo’s men could be in for a long afternoon if the pair are not back from injury.
