On the latest episode of The Blue, White & Yellow podcast, Joe Donnohue has been speaking about all things concerning Leeds United.

One of the talking points was the fitness of Leeds defender Robin Koch who is currently out of the matchday squad through an ongoing injury issue.

Is Koch a big miss to Bielsa's side?

Yes

No

No

It has been reported a pelvic injury is the issue causing the German some problems which has seen him miss the previous three Premier League games for the Whites (via Transfermarkt).

Marcelo Bielsa has not shed much light on the extent of the injury or when the 25-year-old is likely to return, however, speaking on the matter, Donnohue had the following to say (37:31):

“We haven’t heard actually. Every time we asked in the press conference last week with Bielsa he said that he’s still absent, still out. Didn’t elaborate any more on that.

“I mean to begin with, we sort of read into it as sort of being a minor injury but now it’s sort of a few games that he’s missed, so we’re wondering what the issue is there. Obviously, he said he had injured his pubis, which we determined as a pelvic injury for anyone who’s not familiar with the human anatomy.

“But obviously we’re hopeful that it won’t be something too much more further prolonged because it’d be good to have him back in the team and good to have him back in central defence actually.”

TIF Thoughts on Leeds’ start to the season…

1 of 10

Can you remember where Leeds finished in these league seasons? First up: 2018/19

It has certainly been an underwhelming start to the new campaign for the Whites considering how well they did last time out.

However, their trip to Tyneside on Friday offers Bielsa’s men with the perfect opportunity to chalk up their first victory of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign. The Toon are also without a win in their opening four games and with Callum Wilson likely to be out of the action, we think this is a great chance for Leeds to kickstart their season.

But with Koch seemingly out, as well as Diego Llorente and Pascal Struijk following the game against Liverpool leaving the club in something of a crisis at the back, it certainly isn’t going to be easy for them.
