A whole host of Sheffield Wednesday fans are very happy on Twitter as Ciaran Brennan has headed out on loan.

Although the transfer window slammed shut on August 31st, with the National League not being part of the EFL, clubs can still loan out players to sides playing below League 2, and that’s exactly what Wednesday have done with Brennan.

The centre-back made his debut for the Owls last season in the Carabao Cup and was later handed further appearances in cup competitions, but for at least his immediate future, Brennan will be playing for Notts County, as the two clubs and player have agreed on a short-term deal.

A lot of Wednesday fans are happy on Twitter to see the defender get loaned out and to earn some experience.

What have these Sheffield Wednesday fans had to say?

Great move in my opinion. Any player not in the matchday squad needs to be going out on loan and gaining valuable game time. #SWFC

So far this season, Brennan has made the bench once for the Owls, in a 1-0 defeat away to Morecambe, but he did feature in the Papa John’s Trophy against Newcastle United U23s, which saw him complete 90 minutes and keep a clean sheet.

An easy one to kick off our quiz on the 2020 summer transfer window in the EFL, which player left Birmingham City to join Borussia Dortmund?

Given Sheffield Wednesday’s options at centre back, it makes sense for Brennan to go out, even in the short term, and get some game time under his belt, although some fans may point to the fact that they haven’t kept a clean sheet in the league since their 2-0 win away to Rotherham in August, and any help they can get would be beneficial.
