Sheffield Wednesday fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest team news to emerge concerning the Yorkshire club’s upcoming League One clash against Ipswich Town.

This comes after Wednesday journalist Dom Howson shared a post on his official Twitter page relaying news originally shared by Owls boss Darren Moore during his recent press conference ahead of the match at the weekend.

In his post, Howson said that Gibson will not be available to play against Ipswich after Moore said they “don’t feel he is quite there yet” in terms of his fitness, which the player has struggled with over the past few weeks and months.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Wednesday supporters, who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest update.

So, what did these Wednesday fans have to say in response to Howson’s post about Gibson?

“Dejan Kelhar, Darryl Lachman, David Bates Mk2”

@Oliver19923

“What a waste of a signing.”

@Peter073001

“Watch him be David Bates 2.0”

@YoLO6798

“Why did we take an injured player on loan”

@nicolarowlinson

I’m actually convinced this bloke doesn’t exist at this point – has anyone ever actually seen him in the flesh? I think we’ve Googled a picture of some random bloke and put it on the club account and called him that name, it’s all a front #swfc

Looking at the replies to this post from Howson, it seems as though these Wednesday fans are not happy that Gibson will not feature against Ipswich and are getting quite fed up with his injury issues.

Given how the 21-year-old defender has yet to make an appearance for the Owls since arriving at the club on loan from Everton’s U23 side back in August, it’s easy to see why some of these fans are running out of patience with him and his lack of fitness.

Moving forward, unless Gibson can get his fitness on track and start getting some playing time for Wednesday, then he could well be in danger of potentially wasting his loan spell being out on the sidelines, which wouldn’t be ideal for anyone.
