Celtic fans on Twitter have been reacting to recently emerged footage of Hoops left-back Adam Montgomery.

This comes after Celtic-focused Twitter account @aboutceltic shared a post on its page that contained footage taken from the Scotland U21s’ recent 1-1 draw against Turkey’s U21 side in their first Euro 2023 qualifier.

Specifically, the footage shows Scotland’s only goal of the game scored by Glenn Middleton and assisted by Montgomery.

After the Turkey goalkeeper parried out a shot at goal, Montgomery rushed to the ball before putting in a pinpoint first-time cross to Middleton, who then managed to score.

This post then quickly grabbed the attention of a number of Hoops fans who were not shy in sharing their thoughts.

So, what did these Celtic fans have to say in response to this footage of Montgomery’s assist?

“An assist for Adam Montgomery as Scotland U21s take an early lead in Turkey Clever play by the Celtic youngster putting the rebound back across to Middleton to finish”

Looking at the replies to this post, it’s clear to see that these Hoops fans were pleased with what they saw from the 19-year-old defender during this latest Scotland U21 game.

Do you think Adam Montgomery is good enough to start for Celtic?

Given how Montgomery has made seven appearances for Ange Postecoglou’s side across all competitions so far this season – all coming off the substitutes’ bench – it’ll be interesting to see whether or not the defender gets his first start of the season anytime soon and whether or not his recent assist on international duty will persuade Postecoglou to give him a chance to do so.
