Former Scottish footballer Alan Rough has expressed his doubts over Ange Postecoglou, stating that the Celtic manager ‘has to get his act together’.

The Bhoys’ new man in charge has endured an indifferent start to life in Scotland. As things stand, three wins and three losses in six league fixtures have left Celtic off the pace in the Scottish Premier League title race.

Most recently, Postecoglou’s men were embarrassed in a 1-0 away loss against Livingston. With this poor form in mind, Rough has claimed that the Celtic man is ‘very fortunate’ to have not been questioned more.

While speaking on the PLZ Football Show, Rough explained himself, saying: “I think he’s very fortunate, I don’t know what he’s done to get a lot of the support to do just exactly what you’ve said – they’ve all bought into, ‘it’s going to take time’.

“It’s okay saying that, but if you continually lose games, people lose patience and winning games stops that, so he really has to get his act together.”

TIF Thoughts on Ange Postecoglou and Celtic…

After 107 days without a permanent boss in charge following the departure of Neil Lennon, the Australian joined Celtic on a rolling 12-month contract this summer.

Things got off to a bit of a shaky start as the club lost their opening game of the league season against Hearts. Some good form followed, but an Old Firm loss to Rangers wouldn’t have endeared Postecoglou to his doubters.

Only six league games into the campaign, the Celtic manager has plenty of time to make something of this season, but as Rough suggests, if he keeps dropping points, eventually fans could ‘lose patience’ if their current malaise continues for too much longer.
