Celtic fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest injury update to emerge concerning Hoops duo James McCarthy and Josip Juranovic.

This comes after Celtic journalist John McGinley shared a post on his Twitter page revealing that the injury picked up by Juranovic, which forced him off the pitch during the first half of their 1-1 draw against Dundee United, concerns his hamstring, adding that it is now a “wait-and-see job” as to the severity of the injury.

With McCarthy, who was also forced off during the match at the weekend with a suspected injury, McGinley said that Celtic are “hoping he’s ok” after also suffering a knock in the first half.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from a range of Hoops supporters, who were not shy in airing their thoughts on the situation.

So, what did these Celtic fans have to say in response to this injury news concerning McCarthy and Juranovic?

“We’re genuinely cursed.”

@Rxgic67_

“Just release McCarthy”

@krxss8

“Would start the statue of big jock in CDM before playing McCarthy ever again. Horrendous”

@cmcfc20111

“And Ajeti’s issue is that he’s not a footballer.”

@muzzybhoy

“Is McGregor back for Thursday? If not and if McCarthy is out then we will need to start soro”

@sideshowbob114

“Call me petty and short-sighted but I’d take beating sevco at home as brilliant for this rebuild season. Judge Ange after 3 windows. The rest is up in the air”

@ayton_paul

Looking at the replies to this post from McGinley, it seems as though some of these Celtic fans are not happy with this injury news.

Given how Ange Postecoglou’s side have only managed to win two out of their seven previous matches across all competitions, it’s not a great time for them to have injuries in their squad, especially with Celtic having another Europa League clash on the horizon against Bayer Leverkusen in midweek.

Moving forward, until there is an official confirmation on the severity of the injuries to Juranovic and McCarthy, the best everyone at Celtic can hope for is that the duo won’t be out for too long and can get back out on the pitch as soon as possible.
