Celtic fans have been reacting to news surrounding Kyogo Furuhashi whilst away on international duty with Japan.

The 26-year-old has got off to a flyer when it comes to his time at Celtic Park, scoring seven goals in his opening nine games for the club, going some way to pay off the reported £4.6m transfer fee that they forked out for him in the summer.

However, whilst away with Japan on international duty in a World Cup qualifier against China, he appears to have suffered something of an injury scare, forcing him to come off the pitch in the second half.

The news was relayed to Celtic fans on Twitter by journalist Sam Robson, and it’s fair to say there were a number of them who were left rather upset to see the news, which was understandable given the incredible mark he’s left on the club in his first few months:

“Bad news. Let’s hope he’s ok.”

“This is why I don’t want any of our players called up for international duty”
“Further evidence international football needs scrapped at the beginning of the club season.. hopefully it’s nothing serious for Kyogo”
“Can this day get any worse”
“Feel sick”
“Nothing to smile about in my life.”
“Seem Kyogo has a knee injury, that’s all we need, hope it’s not too bad but it wasn’t a challenge it seems to just have went. Get well soon wee man”

Let’s hope it is nothing too serious, as they are really going to need his goals if they are to put up a decent effort when it comes to challenging for silverware this season.
