Celtic fans have been reacting to comments made by new signing Jota following his first press conference at the club.
The 22-year-old winger signed for the club on a season-long loan from Benfica and comes to Celtic Park having picked up 15 goals and 19 assists for the club through the Portuguese club’s first-team and their B side over the years.
And apparently, his desire to play for Celtic goes beyond just this summer window. Speaking in his first press conference for the club, he recounted a tale about how he managed to pick up some Celtic memorabilia during his younger days at his former club.
He said: “I’ve always paid attention to Celtic. When I was younger and I was with Benfica and Celtic were playing them in the Champions League, I remember that I went to the stadium and I changed scarves with a Celtic fan. I think I still have it at home in Portugal. So since that day, I’ve always remembered that club – Celtic.”
“What a fabulous interview from a humble young player. If he plays half as well as he talks he will be a huge success.”
Are you excited to see Jota in action for Celtic?
Now we just wait to see if he can impress them with his goals as well as his words.
