Lots of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to share their frustrations following their victory on Thursday against Raith Rovers regarding a fitness update on Giorgos Giakoumakis.
Following the game, Chris Sutton relayed Ange Postecoglou’s confirmation of the Greek striker picking up a calf injury during the warm-up for their game at Parkhead against the Scottish Championship opposition.
Do you think Giakoumakis will come good for Celtic?
Yes
No
The 26-year-old was set to start the game at Parkhead on the bench, but the injury issue suffered during the warm-up forced him out of the squad and left Postecoglou disgruntled.
“He did his calf in the warm-up and we have just sent him off to do a scan now. He has picked up an injury, unfortunately,” the Australian said.
And Postecoglou was not the only one left frustrated by the injury issue, as these fans flocked to Chris Sutton’s tweet relaying the update.
What did these Celtic fans have to say?
“My god!!! Beyond words now ……”
The 26-year-old joined the Bhoys this summer from Eredivisie side VVV-Venlo in a deal believed to be worth in the region of £2.25m (via Transfermarkt).
However, since arriving in Glasgow, Giakoumakis is yet to feature for his new side in any competition, with Thursday’s calf injury coming as a setback in his integration to the squad.
