A number of Celtic fans have been left angered after some footage emerged showing Dundee United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist kicking Bhoys striker Liel Abada.

Over the weekend, Ange Postecoglou’s men were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw against their visiting opposition. A 16th-minute strike from Abada was quickly cancelled out just two minutes later as Ian Harkes pulled his side level.

Celtic hit the woodwork three times as they tried in vain to find a winner, but in the end, both teams had to settle for a point.

However, footage has emerged online of an incident that could have changed the game, but was ultimately missed by the officials.

The clip, shared on Twitter by @ktptn, shows Siegrist stamp his studs into the side of Abada as the two contest for a ball. The Celtic player was left on the ground, but the opposition ‘keeper went unpunished as the referee took no action.

Upon seeing the video, many Hoops supporters were not too happy.

Here’s what these Celtic fans said

“That’s a red card all day long. ‘Keeper is an absolute coward.”

“@ScottishFA Clancy is a complete joke of a “ref””
“Red card all day long.”
“Ref was shocking yesterday.”
“Shocking challenge on Abada.”
