A whole host of Celtic fans are furious on Twitter with Stephen Welsh’s first-half display which led to Livingston’s opening goal.

It was a strong start to the opening 45 minutes for Celtic which saw them control the game against Livingston who sat bottom of the SPFL table before kick-off, so to see them take the lead was certainly a shock to many.

Was Joe Hart a good signing for Celtic?

The home side restricted Celtic to just one shot on target in the first half and even managed to take the lead through Andrew Shinnie with many Celtic fans believing that the natural midfielder got away from Welsh far too easily.

A lot of Celtic fans are not happy on Twitter with Welsh’s display.

What have these Celtic fans been saying?

“Most of you muppets who wanted welsh in… some fans have no clue”

@Nrew91

“Midfield nowhere to be seen as us usual followed by terrible defending by Welsh.”

@DaleySteven

“Welsh is absolutely murder. Get bitton back in for him.”

@BhoyBoris

“Welsh is a dud. Dreadful player.”

@CELTICBOB1967

“It’s on Welsh dreadful defending from him”

@Worldwid2Celtic

“Shocking from Welsh”

@McClucky8

Welsh had already started and played 90 minutes in three SPFL games thus far but didn’t make it off the bench for the club’s last match which was a 3-0 victory at home to Ross County and his role in the opening goal against Livingston will not have pleased Ange Postecoglou.

Celtic fans will not have been pleased with the result after the opening 45 minutes, especially considering they were already three points behind their city and title rivals Rangers before this match.

    What about Turnbull and McCarthy. Both of these guys should be dropped for the next game. League is gone Celtic have been beaten 3 times in the first 6 games. A dreadful performance laughable if it wasn’t so tragic. Serious doubts about Ange now.
