Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left worried after Nuno Espirito Santo provided an update on the fitness of Son Heung-min.

While speaking in a press conference, the Spurs manager failed to provide much clarity regarding the specifics of an injury the South Korean picked up while out on international duty.

As quoted by Football.london, Espirito Santo said: “Like some of our players, he came with issues. Sonny is not so well. Let’s wait for the club to make the announcement. [Is it long-term?] I don’t know. Let’s wait and see. The doctors will make the analysis.”

Gold then tweeted the update to his followers and it soon caused plenty of dismay amongst the Tottenham fanbase.

Here’s what these Spurs fans said…

“All I know is pain.”

“Spurs are cursed, man.”
“Sounds like a potential operation pending. Hope not though, but doesn’t sound good.”
“And here. We. Go. Down a pit of despair.”
“Actual tears in my eyes. Tomorrow’s got disaster written all over it for a multitude of reasons.”

Evidently, these Tottenham fans are very concerned by the suggestion that Son could be injured for some time – even if the exact timeframe of that is still not fully understood.

Will Tottenham Hotspur make top four this season?

Yes

No

No

With the club facing Crystal Palace on Saturday, it looks very unlikely that the South Korean will feature in the lunchtime kick-off.

This will no doubt be a blow, but having just been named as Premier League Manager of the Month for August, Espirito Santo should have all the confidence required to find a suitable solution.
