Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest comments to emerge from Lilywhites manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

This comes as the official Tottenham Twitter account shared a post on its page that contained a video of Espirito Santo speaking to the club’s media after managing to beat Wolves 3-2 on penalties in the Carabao Cup at Molineux after a 2-2 draw in 90 minutes.

How many points did Tottenham gain in the following seasons? First up: 2020/21

During the video, Espirito Santo said it was an “emotional” game, but one he thought his side played very well in. The Portuguese also insisted that the team had practised penalty kicks before the clash, which ultimately led to their victory.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Spurs supporters who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on the matter.

So, what did these Spurs fans have to say in response to Espirito Santo’s comments after the Wolves game?

“I take back everything I said about Nuno”

@vlixthfc

“We played pretty well, improving slowly hopefully it keeps going.”

@AMoneyyy18

“We are flying now the rest of the league need to look out”

@MCWWIII

“Well done Nuno for picking a more attacking team with Gil and Ndombele, need to create more but much better”

@ainger13

“Fair play, Nuno. You made two big subs, one worked brilliant, the other didn’t. Overall performance was a lot, lot better but still work to do”

@g_brooks_

“Hope he keeps up the performance from the first half and not let it discourage him because we are actually playing decent football for once”

@josh_wiggan

Looking at the replies to this post, it seems as though these Tottenham supporters have responded rather positively to the performance against Wolves and what Espirito Santo had to say after it.

Were you pleased with the overall performance against Wolves?

Yes

No

No

Given how Spurs went into the midweek match against the Old Gold coming off the back of two consecutive 3-0 defeats in the Premier League, it’s safe to say that there needed to be a change in their fortunes, which seems to have happened against Wolves.

In our view, while Spurs managed to get through to the next round of the competition, the fact that they still conceded two goals in the 90 minutes suggests that there are still improvements to be made in the team.

Moving forward, with Spurs set to face their north London rivals Arsenal at the weekend in the Premier League, we feel that a win against the Gunners would be a massive boost for everyone at Tottenham and a great way to put their two previous results behind them.
