Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to news that has emerged surrounding summer signing Bryan Gil.
The 20-year-old was brought in this past transfer window from Spanish side Sevilla for a fee of around £21.6m in a deal that also saw Erik Lamela go the other way.
The winger has slowly been bedded into Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, making three appearances so far this season for a total of 165 minutes, and even managed to register an assist in the Europa Conference League qualifiers.
However, perhaps bigger news for the youngster has come whilst away on international duty, as it was announced that he has been made captain of the country’s U21 side, with Gil being quoted as saying that he is “very happy and proud” to take on the role.
The news was relayed to fans by @thespursweb for them to react to, and it generated some interesting responses, with some excited about the news itself, whilst others were more interested in praising the player and his abilities:
