Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been responding to a recent transfer claim to emerge concerning the north London club.
This comes after Tottenham-focused Twitter account @TranSPURS shared a post on its page relaying news originally shared by journalist Fabrizio Romano during a recent episode of his Here We Go Podcast (14:02).
During the podcast, Romano revealed that no decision has yet been made over whether Tottenham-linked midfielder Franck Kessie will put pen to paper on a new deal with his current club, AC Milan – meaning he could well be available as a free agent in January, with his contract set to expire next summer should he not sign a new one.
This post then grabbed the attention of a number of Tottenham supporters, who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on the matter.
So, what did these Spurs fans have to say about a potential move for Kessie?
“Sell Winks and bring him in”
“Please please please please please”
“If we can get him signed ahead of the summer transfer window so he has a full preseason, we would be properly cooking”
“If Paratici is the Don then he gets him or someone of his calibre in, in January.”
“We desperately need midfield reinforcements”
“We need a creative midfielder, but I’ll still take him”
Looking at the replies to this post, it’s clear to see that these Spurs fans would be happy to see their club potentially sign Kessie and add him to their squad, especially if they can get him on a free transfer.
In our view, given how current Spurs midfielder Tanguy Ndombele apparently asked if he could leave the club during the previous summer transfer window, we feel that if the Frenchman were to eventually be granted his wish next summer, Kessie could well be a sufficient potential replacement for him.
Would you take Kessie at Spurs?
Moving forward, if Spurs are interested in signing Kessie, they will have to keep a keen eye on his current situation at AC Milan and if he signs a new deal or not.
