A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have expressed their delight online after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg picked up a fine assist while out on international duty.

The Dane assisted the first goal of the game as his country overcame Scotland 2-0 in a World Cup qualifier. The Spurs man sprayed a searching diagonal ball that dropped perfectly for teammate Daniel Wass to head home.

Just a minute later,  Joakim Maehle doubled the lead and put the game out of Scotland’s reach.

Sky Sports Football shared a clip of the first goal on its Twitter feed and many Tottenham fans were quick to praise the involvement of their star player.

Here’s what these Spurs fans had to say…

“Honestly a great assist.”

“This man keeps getting better and better, so so good.”
“Magnificent assist from Hojbjerg more of that at Tottenham that would be lovely.”
“What a marvellous ball in by #Spurs’ Viking, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to set up Denmark’s first goal. That’s a beauty of an assist by our number 5!”
“That vision, with Lucas Bergwin, Gil, Son, and Kane all being in front of him. He’s getting assists this season.”
“Ndombele who? We’ve found our creative midfielder”
“We truly waste this guy.”

These Spurs fans were clearly impressed by the Dane’s assist, though it’s not the first time he has impressed on the international stage. Indeed, Hojbjerg grabbed three assists this summer during Denmark’s Euro 2020 campaign.

No doubt, these Tottenham supporters will be hoping to see that form translate to club level across the rest of the Premier League season.
