Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has been speaking on the latest episode of the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham podcast to discuss all things Spurs-related.

One of the main talking points was the future of Spurs striker Harry Kane, now the summer transfer window has ended with the 28-year-old remaining a Tottenham player.

Are you pleased Kane is still at Spurs?

Yes

Yes

No

No

It is believed Tottenham’s director of football, Fabio Paratici, held talks with the striker to try and persuade the Englishman to stay at the club, with interest emerging from Manchester City.

Talking more specifically about the conversations which took place behind the scenes between Paratici and Kane, Gold had the following to say.

“With Harry Kane, you have that guarantee how incredible he is. And if he says he will be fully focused on this season ahead, he will be.

“And I keep hearing that his talks with Paratici and Nuno [Espirito Santo] have been really, really positive; really good.

“They feel that he’s very much back – not to say he wasn’t in the first place, but very much is fully focused on the Nuno idea and what’s going to happen.”

TIF Thoughts on Kane’s future at Spurs…

What Gold had to say will certainly be music to the ears of Spurs fans as they look to put this transfer saga behind them as Kane remains in N17.

Some may question whether Kane will be fully focused on Tottenham given it was made abundantly clear the striker wanted to leave the club this summer.

However, with Alan Shearer’s goalscoring record to continue closing in on and his first-ever club trophy still there to be won, we think Kane will have his sights set on winning this season.

We also think the international break has come at a great time for Kane and Spurs. His first start of the Premier League campaign came against Watford last weekend, so this will provide him with an opportunity to build his match fitness.
