Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge insists that Tanguy Ndombele needs to knuckle down at Tottenham Hotspur after failing to force a move away from the club in the summer transfer window.

The France international requested a transfer earlier this summer as he looked to find a new club.

Ndombele has struggled to adjust to life in England since his move from Lyon and The Athletic reported that the player had informed Spurs of his desire to move on if bids were tabled.

What should Spurs do with Ndombele?

That deal did not materialise, however, with the France international staying at the club beyond Tuesday’s 11pm deadline.

Ndombele will now have to be reintegrated into Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad, having failed to play in any of their first three Premier League games, all of which Spurs won 1-0, against Manchester City, Wolves, and Watford.

And Bridge believes that he now needs to knuckle down to ensure that Spurs see the best of him.

He said: “Tottenham really have to get him, meet with him, and just say ‘look, we know you want to leave, you’ve got a good thing here and you’re not going to get back into the French squad like this, just knuckle down.’

“We all know how good he can be, he’s a YouTube player. Imagine our showreels, it won’t take long to get Ndombele’s best bits. He needs to knuckle down because he’s not young anymore and I’m sick of excuses from him.”
