Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts insists that the club should look to sign at least one player in the January transfer window.
The club enjoyed an aggressive summer of recruitment following the appointment of Fabio Paratici as Director of Football.
Spurs have signed Bryan Gil, Emerson Royal, Pape Sarr, Pierluigi Gollini and Cristian Romero as they have looked to strengthen the squad of manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
Will Tottenham finish in the top six this season?
Yes
No
There remain some holes in the squad, with the club failing to bring in a back-up striker or an attacking midfielder.
Roberts insists that the only reason for Spurs not to strengthen in the January window would be if they were top of the league.
But even then, he maintains that at least one new player will be required at the turn of the year.
Roberts said: “If we’re top of the league then no. But, saying that, I think you should always bring one in anyway. So maybe we’ll bring one in but if we’re struggling… we’ve got some tough games coming up.”
Spurs enjoyed a stellar start to the season and beat Manchester City, Wolves, and Watford, although they were thumped 3-0 by Crystal Palace at the weekend.
