Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts insists that Steve Hitchen should resign if he is not a fan of his current job.

Hitchen earned Spurs’ fans scorn due to his appearance in Amazon’s All or Nothing documentary.

Speaking during the January transfer window, Hitchen, who works as the Director of Technical Performance in north London, insisted that he “hated” that time of the season.

Spurs have since appointed a new Director of Football in Fabio Paratici, who has spearheaded the club’s aggressive summer of recruitment.

Spurs signed Bryan Gil from Sevilla, Emerson Royal from Barcelona, Pape Sarr from Metz, and Pierluigi Gollini and Cristian Romero from Atalanta.

Hitchen has been spotted on the bench throughout the start of the campaign, alongside Paratici, but Roberts is confused as to what the former’s actual role is and has urged him to get out of the club.

Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, he said: “Well, what’s the bloke there for? If you hate it, get out of the job. That’s your job. Your job is to find us better players. You can’t hate something that you’ve got to make us better.”
