Former Tottenham Hotspur star Graham Roberts insists that Tanguy Ndombele simply has to honour the contract he has at the club.

The France international has been at the centre of something approaching an exit saga at Spurs, with reports claiming that he asked to leave the club in the summer transfer window.

That is the second time that he is reported to have asked to leave, despite Ndombele being the most expensive signing in the club’s history.

Would you be happy to see Ndombele back playing regularly for Spurs?

Ndombele has yet to actually play a single minute of Premier League football this season, although he did start in the UEFA Conference League against Rennes on Thursday.

He is reported to be earning £200,000-per-week, and Roberts maintains that the former Lyon star has no choice but to honour the deal he signed, which runs until 2025.

Indeed, Roberts also insists that any deal for him to leave would be hugely expensive for the buying club, given the length of his contract; he is valued at £45m by Transfermarkt.

He said: “At the end of it, it’s down to you. You’re at a football club, you signed a contract at £200,000-per-week, you have to honour a contract. If Tottenham want to sell you, that’s different, the club have the right to sell you if you’re not happy but you’re not going to go on the cheap.”
