Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest claim to emerge concerning Lilywhites midfielder Dele Alli and his future at the north London club.

This comes after Tottenham podcast Twitter page @LastWordOnSpurs shared a post on their page relaying news originally published in an article from Football Insider.

The article claims that the club are now likely to wait until next summer before trying once again to sell Alli after being willing to listen to offers for him during the recent summer transfer window.

How many points did Tottenham gain in the following seasons? First up: 2020/21

The article also added that the Englishman is apparently “difficult to manage behind the scenes as well as an inconsistent trainer.”

This post then gathered a lot of replies from a range of Tottenham supporters who were not shy in airing their thoughts on this latest claim.

So, what did these Spurs fans have to say in response to this claim about Alli?

“Goodbye and good riddance”

@ChaelCormier

“So why is he starting every game then? Something doesn’t add up.”

@jameshall257

“Why is he starting then? Bigger issues than just Delle”

@justpbee

“How is he still considered an asset? just let him go or drop him to the u23’s”

@Darodo1

“Release him Has terrible work ethic Hasn’t played well Unreservedly getting picked”

@Liam49191488

“So all of the pics and vids in pre-season were just for likes on Insta? Its so frustrating because Dele could had been one of the greats and has in my mind been distracted by off the field endeavours”

@Chewymon

Looking at the replies to this post it seems as though some of these Spurs fans have had enough of Alli and think the club needs to get rid of him.

Do you think Spurs should sell Dele Alli in the summer?

Yes

Yes

No

No

In our view, given how only two outfield players have played more minutes in the Premier League than Alli so far this season, this makes us question whether the claims about the midfielder apparently being difficult to manage and an inconsistent trainer are accurate, given how much faith Nuno Espirito Santo has put in him so far.
