A collection of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to social media after it was announced that their club’s stadium has won an award.
Indeed, Spurs’ website declared that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been named among the winners of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) National Awards for 2021.
The announcement went on to explain that the awards are given to recognise outstanding architectural work. It also added that this is the 17th industry award that the stadium has received since its opening in April of 2019.
The news was shared on the club’s official Twitter page, drawing plenty of proud responses from their supporters.
Here’s what these fans Tottenham had to say
“Wow, RIBA awards are actually a big deal.”
The stadium cost a reported £1 billion to construct and is capable of hosting 62,000 fans.
Perhaps more importantly than this award, the venue has played host to two of the club’s three Premier League wins so far this season.
Will Tottenham Hotspur make top four this season?
Yes
No
The club beat Manchester City on an opening day, before winning 1-0 once more against Watford shortly before the international break.
Those wins, and one more away from home, see Spurs sit top of the league table in the early stages of the new campaign.
