Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react as Gianluca di Marzio reveals why Antonio Conte rejected job

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted online after Italian football journalist Gianluca di Marzio revealed why Antonio Conte rejected their club.

While speaking to Sky Sports (via Football Daily), Di Marzio claimed that the former Chelsea manager is only currently looking for a ‘winning project’ – which is why he is unlikely to end up at Arsenal if Mikel Arteta is sacked.

He explained that this desire of his is ‘why he said no to Tottenham’ – despite the Italian reportedly being in talks with the north London club at one point in time.

Di Marzio’s words were: “He would only accept a winning project. So I don’t think he would accept Arsenal and that is why he said no to Tottenham.”

This news was shared online by The Spurs Express and it’s safe to say it didn’t go down too well with many of the club’s supporters.

Conte is currently without a job having left Inter Milan over the summer, despite just winning the league, due to a row over finances available to him.
