A whole host of Newcastle United fans are buzzing on Twitter as Martin Dubravka has appeared back in training.
The Magpies have only played five games in the Premier League this season, but they have already fielded two different goalkeepers, with Freddie Woodman starting the campaign before picking up an injury in training, just as Karl Darlow returned to the matchday squad – with the former Nottingham Forest shot-stopper starting against Leeds United.
Who is a better keeper?
In the coming weeks, though, Steve Bruce could be set to name his third ‘keeper in the league, as regular number-one Dubravka has been pictured back in training for the first time following an injury he picked up over the summer, which has kept him out of training and any kind of football until now.
A lot of Newcastle fans are buzzing on Twitter that Dubravka is back in training.
What have these Newcastle fans been saying?
Things you love to see! #NUFC“
“Massive news our most important player IMO”
“I love this!!!!!!”
“Welcome back Heco!!!!!!!”
Dubravka was signed by Rafael Benitez back in January 2018 and made his debut at home to Manchester United, which saw him keep a clean sheet and make some superb saves, which was a sign of things to come on Tyneside.
The Slovakian No 1 was also injured last season, which saw Darlow start the first 25 league games, but he was ultimately dropped 11 games after Dubravka returned to the matchday squad, so it’s clear that Bruce sees him as his number one and is perhaps likely to regain the starting spot once he’s fully fit.
