A whole host of Newcastle United fans are delighted on Twitter to see Allan Saint-Maximin receive a nomination for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award.

It’s been a pretty wretched start for the Magpies this season, as they are yet to pick up their first win of the campaign, however, they have come close in recent weeks, with a last-minute James Ward-Prowse penalty earning a point for Southampton. while a final-minute one-on-one blunder from Jacob Murphy saw the Magpies have to settle for a point away to Watford.

Will Newcastle have new owners next season?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

This poor start does not apply to their French winger Saint-Maximin, who has really impressed this season with Callum Wilson out injured, he’s picked up the baton and tried to drive the club on, and that’s shown in his stats, with two goals and three assists to his name already – something that has not gone unnoticed as he’s been nominated for the Player of the Month award.

A lot of Newcastle fans on Twitter love that Saint-Maximin has been nominated for the award.

What have these Newcastle fans had to say?

“Haven’t won a game all season but ASM nominated for player of the month What a boy”

@Tommy_Jackson9

“Brilliant.”

@Wezmcn

“Our Gucci King admin”

@Liamzzyy

“Well deserved too.”

@eileen54933311

“Been our best player for a long long time”

@woz90

“Best Winger in the league”

@lewisdunn38

And very much deserved @asaintmaximin you’ve got my vote”

Saint-Maximin is currently on pace to smash his record in front of goal from the previous two seasons, which both saw him net three times and register four assists, so he’s just one goal and one assist behind those tallies after just six games.

Newcastle PL appearances quiz! This man is the all-time top Premier League appearance maker for Newcastle, but how many did he make?

The Frenchman has been linked with a move away from St. James’ Park this year, with destinations such as Everton, Chelsea and Liverpool being touted as possible clubs circling the winger, however, he wouldn’t come cheap given that he has a contract with Newcastle until 2026.
