Nigel Jemson, the former Premier League striker, believes that Declan Rice would be an excellent signing for Manchester United next summer.

The club enjoyed a remarkable summer of recruitment, strengthening in a number of areas.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have recruited Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, Raphael Varane from Real Madrid and, most sensationally, Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus.

Do you think West Ham will sell Declan Rice next summer?

They have already enjoyed an excellent start to the season, winning three and drawing one of their opening four games of the campaign.

They did not manage to sign a defensive midfielder, although there is said to be a desire to bring in a player of that profile next term.

Rice has been heavily linked with an exit from the Irons, with United, Chelsea, and Manchester City all reported to hold an interest, although he would cost in excess of £100m (via The Sun).

Still, Jemson believes he would be a superb signing next summer.

Speaking to This Is Futbol, he said: “There’s talk about Declan Rice at West Ham, I think he’d be a good fit for them.”
