Football journalist Dean Jones has been sharing his thoughts on the possibility of French club Paris Saint-Germain making a potential future move to sign Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah.

This comes after Jones made an appearance on a recent episode of Touchline Talk where he spoke about a range of topics surrounding a variety of Premier League clubs.

Who scored the opening goal in Liverpool's 4-3 win over Leeds United at Anfield in September?

After it was recently reported that Liverpool are working on a potential new contract for Salah amid apparent wage demands from the Egyptian of £500,000 a week, Jones had this to say about the possibility of PSG making a move to sign the winger if he doesn’t end up securing a new deal at Anfield.

He said: “After what they’ve done this summer, you absolutely wouldn’t rule out PSG coming in for Mo Salah and they can offer him all those things that I was just talking about – a ridiculous financial package, I’m sure, but also that opportunity to win the Champions League, win domestic competitions and put himself in that bracket as one of the best players in the world.”

Salah’s current contract with Jurgen Klopp’s side is set to expire in the summer of 2023.

Are you confident Salah will sign a new deal at Liverpool?

Taking into account how PSG brought in a handful of players to the club during the previous summer transfer window on the cheap, such as Gianluigi Donnarumma, Georginio Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi, it’s easy to see why Jones thinks the club wouldn’t be against adding Salah to their squad in the future if his contract runs down at Liverpool.

In our view, given how the 29-year-old, who is currently valued at £90 million according to Transfermarkt, has managed to score an impressive 127 goals in 206 appearances for the Reds across all competitions, we feel that the Merseyside club should do all they can to try and get Salah to sign a new deal so they don’t potentially end up losing one of their most important attacking assets.
