A whole host of Leeds United fans appear to be buzzing on Twitter over a claim involving Crysencio Summerville.
Summerville joined Leeds’ Under-23s last summer from Feyenoord’s Under-19 side, and having yet to make his competitive debut for the first team, he was named on the bench for the Whites’ 1-1 draw away to Burnley last weekend.
Did Leeds have a good transfer window?
Even though he’s never featured for Marcelo Bielsa’s senior side, that had not deterred clubs lower down the footballing pyramid and abroad in attempting to swoop for the winger, as journalist Pete O’Rourke claims that ‘Swansea, Club Brugge and Dutch Eredivisie duo Groningen and Heerenveen’ all asked to sign the player on loan during the transfer window.
O’Rourke also claimed that Summerville ‘is now part of Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team plans’.
A lot of Leeds fans are buzzing on Twitter that Summerville could be set for more opportunities at Elland Road.
What have these Leeds fans been saying?
“Hope this is true”
“Please… he looks like a special talent”
“Hopefully we’ll see him get minutes this minutes this season cracking player, direct, elusive and bloody fast.”
“He’s a good player, is the lad he’s a very special talent”
“Very good player”
“Get him on the pitch for a few minutes”
Summerville may be handed a rare appearance or even start for Leeds next weekend when they face Liverpool, as reports are claiming that Raphinha may be banned from playing for five days following the international break, despite Leeds’ refusal to release him for international duty.
The winger has certainly impressed during his time in the Under-23s, having featured 16 times while managing to score seven goals and register seven assists, so it’s no surprise that clubs were interested in him and that Bielsa wants him in and around the first team.
