First up in this 2020/21 LUFC quiz, which of these players did NOT score against Liverpool in the 4-3 defeat at Anfield?

James signed to Leeds from the Red Devils last month on a five-year contract for a fee of £25 million, having long been linked to the Yorkshire club since his collapsed move in 2019.

Wainman had this to say about the player and his future at Elland Road.

He said: “Honestly, I’m so excited to see him play.

“I know the jury’s still out with a lot of Leeds fans, but believe me, he will be a fantastic signing for Leeds United and that’s why Bielsa went for him over a [Ryan] Kent, over a Noa Lang at £25 million, guys.”

TIF Thoughts on Joe Wainman’s comments on James…

Even though James, who is currently valued at £16.2 million according to Transfermarkt, only managed to score nine goals and provide nine assists in 74 appearances across all competitions for Manchester United, it’s encouraging to hear that Wainman thinks he will be a good fit at Leeds.

Are you excited to see Dan James play for Leeds?

No

Given how James managed to grab an assist and earn himself an impressive overall match rating of 8.76/10 for his performance during Wales’ recent 3-2 win over Belarus in their latest World Cup qualifying match according to WhoScored, as well as when you consider his rise in the game over the last few years, it’s easy to see why Wainman is excited to see the winger in action for Leeds.

In our view, if James gets to play regularly for Leeds, which he wasn’t doing at Old Trafford given he only started 11 of their 38 Premier League games last season, we feel that the 23-year-old could show that he has what it takes to be an important member of Bielsa’s squad and show why the club chose to sign him.
