Image for Leeds United: Fans react as images of club’s 3rd kit are released

Leeds United fans have been reacting to images that have been released of their third kit for this season.

With the international break having taken up most of the attention of football fans during the last week or so, it certainly hasn’t been the busiest time around Elland Road and Thorp Arch, until last night that is when the club finally released images of their third kit.

The club have gone for a lilac option this season, producing a shirt that is very reminiscent of the third kit they had in the 2019-20 promotion campaign.

Given the fact their away kit this season is royal blue, combined with the home shirt colours of the rest of the Premier League, you can’t imagine it being worn all that often, perhaps maybe away at Brighton and Hove Albion and a cup game if they play a team in blue and white.

Can you remember where Leeds finished in these league seasons? First up: 2018/19

However, despite the fact it probably won’t be worn all that often, that didn’t stop plenty of fans from showing their support for it on social media when pictures and a video were released on the club’s Twitter feed:

“Beautiful colour I must say”

“It’s a beauty”
“Another quality kit from @LUFC. Already have the away kit from this season and have the Home kit in transit as we speak, now I need to order this one as well lol.”
“Unreal”
“Love it!”
“Fresh this”

It does seem odd to release a shirt like this that the team will wear so rarely, but if it gives the fans something to buy and keeps money pouring into the club then that’s really all that matters.
