Lots of Leeds United fans have flocked to a tweet from the official club account to share their disappointment at a late departure of one of the club’s young prospects.

In the final couple of hours leading up to the 11pm transfer deadline, it was announced Robbie Gotts had made a permanent move to League Two side Barrow.

The versatile midfielder spent the back-end of the 2020/21 campaign out on loan in League Two, where he made 22 appearances for Salford  City, in which he was able to find the back of the net on three occasions (via Transfermarkt).

However, it seems his loan move away from the club did not earn him a way into Marcelo Bielsa’s side and Leeds fans flocked to the official announcement to share their thoughts on the matter.

What exactly did these Leeds fans have to say?

“Surprised at this one being a permanent, good lad & better than League 2 for me.”

“Good signing for Barrow. Expected a move higher up the leagues.”
“Leeds treated him awfully, lost a great player all the best lad”
“Wish him well with the Barrow manager Cooper. That will end in tears”
“Gutted tbf really thought he’d do well for us”
“Big move smh”
Leeds were able to add to their squad on the final day of the summer window with the acquisition of Daniel James from Manchester United for a fee reportedly worth £25m.

Despite having only played 78 minutes for the Leeds first team during his time at the club, it was apparent to see these fans were left frustrated to see the 21-year-old leave the club.
