Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, former Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer has praised Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira and sporting director Dougie Freedman for the club’s summer business.
Palace’s squad has been massively revamped, with the south London outfit bringing in young players such as Odsonne Edouard and Conor Gallagher.
The striker and midfielder have made immediate impacts, the former quite literally after scoring on his debut against Tottenham last weekend with only his second touch.
Are you pleased with Palace's summer business?
As for Gallagher, who joined Palace on loan from Chelsea, he managed to grab a brace in only his second game for the club, a 2-2 draw away at West Ham. And Palmer has since praised the overall business Vieira and Freedman were able to do.
“I think Crystal Palace have done great business,” the ex-Leeds United star said to TIF. “I think they’ve signed some great young players. You know, what they’ve done with Dougie Freedman and Patrick Vieira, they’ve revamped the club from an ageing squad.”
Marc Guehi, 21, is another youngster Palace brought in over the summer, so it is easy to see what their strategy was.
All in all, it was an impressive transfer window, one that should benefit the Eagles both now and in the long run.
