West Bromwich Albion journalist and presenter Adrian Goldberg has been sharing his thoughts on summer signing Alex Mowatt and how he has settled into the club so far.

This comes after Goldberg co-hosted a recent episode of Baggies-themed podcast The Liquidator, where he spoke about a range of topics concerning the Midlands club.

Discussing Mowatt’s start to life at The Hawthorns, Goldberg had this to say about the midfield man, who the club signed during the recent summer transfer window from fellow Championship club Barnsley on a three-year deal as a free agent.

He said: “Immediately, I like him.

“He’s all-action, he’s a really tigerish presence in midfield. Not afraid to put his foot in, but also very talented.

“Got a very good dead ball on him, and I think he’s a player who now, immediately, instantly, kind of feels like an Albion favourite in the centre of midfield.”

TIF Thoughts on Adrian Goldberg’s comments on Mowatt…

Taking into account how Mowatt was Valerien Ismael’s first signing as the West Brom manager, with the midfielder having already played 42 games under Ismael’s guidance at Barnsley during the 2020/21 season, this shows just how highly thought of he is by the Baggies boss.

Have you been impressed with Alex Mowatt so far?

Given how Mowatt has managed to score two goals and provide one assist in the Championship so far this season whilst playing every minute and ultimately earning himself an overall season rating of 7.6/10 – making him West Brom’s second-highest-rated player underneath Dara O’Shea according to WhoScored – it’s safe to say that signing Mowatt has proved to be a good but of business from the club so far.

In our view, if Mowatt can continue scoring goals, providing assists and putting in quality performances for the team, then he will undoubtedly be considered as not just one of West Brom’s most important players but as one of the best signings of the summer across the Championship.
