A collection of West Bromwich Albion fans have shown their support for goalkeeper Sam Johnstone after he kept a clean sheet for England.
In the current international break, the Baggies ‘keeper made his second Three Lions appearance as England cruised to a 4-0 win over Andorra.
Johnstone was relatively untested in the 2022 World Cup qualifier, but he was more than happy to collect his second clean sheet in as many international appearances.
After the victory, the 28-year-old shared his delight with the result on his official Twitter page and it quickly caught the eye of many West Brom fans.
Here’s what these West Brom fans said…
“ENGLAND’S NUMBER 1.”
Jordan Pickford certainly seems to be Gareth Southgate’s current first-choice option in goal, but if his form should drop or an injury occurs, there’s every chance Johnstone could see himself trusted to take up a more regular starting position.
Having impressed with two clean sheets in his first two international appearances, the Baggies man will now hope to maintain his form at club level as West Brom push for promotion back into the Premier League.
