A whole host of Sheffield United fans are furious on Twitter with their club’s latest fixture change.

It has been a less than pleasant return to life in the Championship for the Blades after a two-season stay in the Premier League, with Slavisa Jokanovic’s men picking up just two wins in the league so far.

Will Sheffield United get promoted this season?

The Blades went out of the Carabao Cup in midweek to Southampton following a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes before losing on penalties, and more disappointing news has followed with their match against Barnsley, set for a 3pm kick off on 23rd October, now being rearranged for the day after at 12:30pm, at the request of South Yorkshire Police, to the annoyance of many supporters.

A lot of Sheffield United fans are furious on Twitter with this latest fixture change.

What have these Sheffield United fans been saying?

“Surprise, surprise”

@TheBladette

“Police ruining football as normal”

@juancl78

“Will literally just get everyone drinking from earlier in the day and then into town for longer to cause more trouble, nice one”

@Hearnandez10

“What a pointless thing to do. Trouble-causers will still cause trouble. Everyone else will be inconvenienced”

@Danny_Clayton

“Ridiculous. There’s no hassle between the two fan bases.”

@KerrieRoebuck

“Only game I’ll miss all season due to being in Spain on holiday & by the state of that I’m not bothered.”

@tomjackson2511

Given that the two sides are relatively close to each other in terms of distance, police may be wanting to stop fans from drinking early before kick-off to stop any potential trouble, however, they appear to have not taken into account travel arrangements people may have already made, with the game just four weeks away.

An easy one to kick off our quiz on the 2020 summer transfer window in the EFL, which player left Birmingham City to join Borussia Dortmund?

Both sides are currently separated by just one point, with the Blades on nine and Barnsley on eight respectively. However, it will be Sheffield United that may be more confident given that they romped to victory last time the two sides faced, winning 4-1 in a friendly back in 2019.
