A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have vented their frustration on Twitter at Steven Bergwijn in the second half of their game against Manchester City.

The Dutchman had a huge chance to double Tottenham’s narrow one-goal lead after Heung-min Son provided them with the advantage.

However, Bergwijn was unable to find the target after finding himself one-on-one with the City goalkeeper, Ederson.

The 23-year-old has played a big role in Tottenham’s pre-season efforts as he looks to get his career in north London back up and running after struggling for game time in the 2020/21 campaign.

But his miss in the second half of the game on Sunday left these Tottenham fans pretty frustrated as a huge chance to extend their lead went amiss.

What exactly did these Spurs fans have to say?

“This man couldn’t finish his dinner if he tried”

“how’s he not scored”
“SELL HIM”
“Bergwijn is awful”
“Dreadful.”
“Shocking from Bergwijn”
“Bergwijn is Lamela 2.0, good in theory but rubbish in practice”
Bergwijn is absolutely terrible, get him off #COYS
The Dutchman was taken off after 77 minutes with Giovani Lo Celso replacing him as Spurs looked to close the game out and defend their narrow one-goal margin.
There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the future of the Dutchman this summer and it seems some of these fans would he keen to see him depart.
