And according to the transfer insider, Spurs could now be looking at not bringing in anymore centre-backs this summer and sticking with Davinson Sanchez.
Have you been impressed by Sanchez's start to the new season?
It was well reported earlier this summer that Spurs were looking to bring in two new centre-backs this summer, but the Colombian’s start to the season may have changed that plan.
Having signed Cristian Romero earlier this summer, Romano had the following to say on who is expected to accompany him in the centre of defence.
“He’s [Fabio Paratici] not 100% sure that they will go for another one. It’s correct what you say, because they were looking for two centre-backs. One, Romero, of course, and another one, they had a list with many names.
“I’m told that Tottenham have also chances to continue with Davinson Sanchez and Romero, and not 100% convinced of signing a new centre-back. So there’s a chance for Tottenham to continue with this defence and focusing for new signings in different positions.”
TIF Thoughts on Tottenham’s defence…
Having lost Toby Alderweireld earlier in the window, we thought it was essential Spurs looked to bring in two new centre-backs.
Romero is yet to integrate his way into the Premier League starting XI, however, we think both Eric Dier and Sanchez have shown positive signs this season which could lead to Spurs focusing their attentions on other positions.
