One player which has been linked with a potential Spurs departure this summer is their 22-year-old defender, Japhet Tanganga.
Does Tanganga need to leave on loan?
The Englishman has been heavily linked with a potential loan move to Galatasaray, however, despite an agreement reportedly being in place, Gold believes Tanganga has turned the potential move down.
Celtic have also been linked with the Tottenham defender in the past and it is now believed Spurs would like to see Tanganga join a UK-based club on loan.
Discussing the 22-year-old’s stance on potentially departing the north London club on a season-long loan this summer, Gold had the following to say.
“As I understand it right now, Tanganga has rejected that for the moment. He wants to just assess and see how his options lie for these remaining weeks in the window then make a decision.
“Spurs would prefer him to go on loan to a UK club. But ultimately it’s who’s there for him. Galatasaray have got real strong interest in him but for the moment he’s said no, but that’s one that could be resurrected.”
TIF Thoughts on Tanganga’s future…
Tanganga has shown a lot of promise in his few appearances for the Lilywhites. His debut saw him make a name for himself after shining in their defeat against Liverpool in the 2019/20 season.
Oliver Skipp proved a loan move away can work wonders for your chances in the Spurs side so we think Tanganga should really consider a season away from the N17 club.
