Sky Sports News presenter Tom White has claimed that Sheffield United talent Daniel Jebbison has ‘chosen’ to play for Sunderland.

Recently it has been reported that the Black Cats are interested in signing the 18-year-old on loan from the Blades, though they face competition with interest from other teams such as Everton.

While speaking on the Roker Rapport podcast, White stated that he believes Jebbison will sign for Sunderland so long as they can sell Will Grigg.

White explained: “From the Sheffield United side of things, someone has said that Jebbison has many clubs to choose from, Sunderland are one of which.

“And I believe that the reason he hasn’t actually made his decision yet publicly is because he has chosen Sunderland, but we are waiting to let go of Grigg.”

TIF Thoughts on Daniel Jebbison and Sunderland…

Jebbison quickly made a name for himself last season when, at 17 years and 309 days, he became the youngest player to start a Premier League game for Sheffield United.

Not only that but seven minutes into the match – incidentally against one of the club’s said to be interested in him, Everton – the teenager scored the only goal of the game.

Grigg looks destined to leave the Black Cats if possible. The striker has scored only eight times since signing in 2019, and supposedly wants to move back closer to his family in the Midlands (via Chronicle Live).

Jebbison has managed to play just 26 minutes for the Blades this season and will perhaps see this loan to Sunderland as a way to gain more minutes at a potentially crucial stage of his development.
