Sunderland fans have been reacting to the performance of Ross Stewart during their game against Burton Albion.
The Black Cats have made a good start to life this season under Lee Johnson, winning all three of their games 2-1 so far in league and cup, and they looked to continue that run of form at the Pirelli Stadium against a Burton side that had started off in a similar vein in the league by winning their first two league games but losing in the cup.
Part of that good start has been down to the form of Stewart, who has bagged a goal in both of their first two league games this season, and even though they weren’t able to beat the Brewers, the centre-forward was one of the bright sparks to come out of the game, with many Sunderland fans singing his praises:
“Another also, Ross Stewart is literally 10 times the player Charlie Wyke ever was. Not even exaggerating #SAFC“
Have you been happy with Johnson since his appointment at Sunderland?
Yes
No
With this now their fourth season in the third tier of English football, hopefully Stewart can keep up these good performances to finally take them over the edge this season and back on the path towards the Premier League.
