Sunderland fans have responded with excitement to a recent update for the club regarding a possible new incoming.

A report has claimed that Sunderland are set to sign West Ham central defender Frederik Alves on loan. The article states the 21-year-old will sign for the Black Cats on a season-long loan deal.

Roker Report shared the information via Twitter and it soon caught the attention of a fair few Sunderland supporters.

Here’s what these Sunderland fans had to say…

“I’m loving this “new Sunderland” approach to transfers and everything else basically. This is the most excited I’ve felt about a season in a long time!”

“Going off West Ham fans’ reviews, looks like another cracker!!”

“Great news. That’s Flanners toasted then.”
“Wow.”
“Sounds like a good ‘un. Cheers!”

The 21-year-old joined the Hammers last January from Danish club Silkeborg, where he made a total of 48 senior appearances.

The Dane is yet to register a competitive senior appearance at West Ham, but has featured on a number of occasions for the club’s Under-23 team (via Transfermarkt).

With Sunderland still aiming to return to the Championship, having been relegated from England’s second tier back in 2018, they will no doubt hope Alves can show his quality if any loan deal is indeed forthcoming.
